Advent greetings, friends!
This note of greeting is sent to remind you of the important role you and your church play in the continued effort of “Imagine No Malaria” and to share some big news. Four times the number of children in Sub-Saharan Africa are surviving – and not dying from malaria – than when Imagine No Malaria launched just five years ago. When this initiative began, a child died from malaria every 30 seconds. According to the World Health Organization’s World Malaria Report released today, we have now turned back the clock to a 2 full minutes. Malaria IS preventable, treatable, and beatable. With your support, we will continue to work with the hope and determination that NO child should die from a preventable and treatable disease.
Your congregation is encouraged to receive an offering during Christmas to benefit “Imagine No Malaria.” The funds received may be sent to the NC Conference with a remittance form marked for “Fairway District Christmas Offering” and mailed to the address on the remittance form. Print this link: Remittance Form.
Thank you for all you are doing to help eradicate malaria so many children, like the little boy pictured above, will be able to say, “One day I will grow to fulfill God’s purpose for my life.”
In the peace of Christ,
Ray Broadwell, Fairway DS
Lou Ann Allred, Fairway ADS
