There is much that is going on.
In our nation, in our world, in our communities,
in our churches…in our own lives.
And today, to be perfectly honest, my brain and my spirit are a little weary.
There was a time when this prayer was a daily companion on my journey.
It has great wisdom in it’s reminder to seek balance between doing what we can
and trusting God for what we can’t.
To do or not do, while honoring the gift of each present moment.
I offer it to you today, in the hopes that it will be a source of strength and grace
as well as a place to breathe…
God, grant me the serenity
– Reinhold Niebuhr
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardship as a pathway to peace;
taking, as Jesus did,
this sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it;
trusting that You will make all things right
if I surrender to Your will;
so that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen.
Journeying with you and thankful for you,
Dena
