Afterschool literacy programs grant due September 22nd: https://nccumc.org/c4c/2023/08/mini-grants-for-c4c-after-school-programs/
We celebrate every school in Moore County that had persons on the campuses praying for this school year, staff members, students, and families in August with a “Bless Our Schools” celebration. THANK YOU, Moore County UMCs, for beginning this school year by praying for our school communities.
We are thankful for the ongoing partnership of Southern Pines UMC (Pastors Tommy Sweeley and Elias Ballew) and Southern Pines Elementary. School staff members have been treated to a “Back to School” bountiful breakfast provided by SPUMC. Throughout the year, SPUMC ensures guidance counselors have access to clothing, school supplies, tennis shoes, and snacks, ensuring children are well-cared for throughout the day. PLUS, SPUMC members include bus drivers, support staff, and educators with acts of appreciation, including thoughtful hand warmers for those on winter bus duty. Southern Pines Elementary is well-blessed by the year-round gracious generosity of SPUMC!
“This is a day of new beginnings. . .” In what ways might your church family care for the public schools in the community entrusted to you? Please feel welcome to contact me with your successes and/or needs for a brainstorming partner so that we might inspire one another through our Fairway UMC networks! I can be reached at elilliston@nccumc.org or by home landline 919-567-9427.
Privileged to serve with you,
Elaine Lilliston
