Blessings Holy Partners in this heavenly calling,
This newsletter article is less of an article and more of a sharing of 1 thought, 4 quotes, and a few questions. My prayer is that we will all find those moments to breathe and receive…
Thoughts to ponder, questions to ask…
I love this week’s gospel lesson from Luke.
Zacchaeus wants to see Jesus in a way that is manageable,
based upon how he sees himself, what he tells himself he deserves,
and what he tells himself he is worthy of.
Jesus changes everything when He sees Zacchaeus where he is,
calls Zacchaeus by name, and says, “Come down from that tree. I want to be more to you than a distant view. I want to be with you where you live every day.
I’m coming to your home to be with you…really with you.”
Are there ways we keep God at a distance?
Are there things we tell ourselves about our own worth which keep the doors
closed to the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives?
What would change if we allowed God to get closer?

“…the way you approach something (or someone) deeply affects everything
that follows—it determines what you see.”
“Expectation makes us blind, and the gift of meeting the actual person who sits across the breakfast table is lost. Instead, we are left with our image of that person-we are left with the mind’s projection.” Paula D’Arcy Waking Up to This Day
What is my expectation in this situation? What filter am I using? What story am I telling myself about this situation or person before ever opening the book?
Is there something or someone I need to approach with more openness, with more grace?

Richard Rohr on letting go…
“All great spirituality is about letting go.”
Seen on a tombstone:
Leave the ashes take the fire
What do I need to let go of today? What do I need to take with me?

Growing with you and thankful for you,
